The MLB June draft kicked off on Thursday, June 5 and concludes today; Saturday, June 7. There were no WCL alums or current WCLers drafted on day one (first round), but several were picked yesterday; the first WCL pick being former Kelowna Falcon Connor Joe of San Diego, who was selected 39th overall as a Competitive Balance Round A pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Walla Walla Sweets lefty Matt Imhof of Cal Poly was selected in the second round by the Philadelphia Phillies (47th overall).

Shortly after Imhof’s selection, former WCL home run champion Taylor Sparks of UC Irvine was picked by the Cincinnati Reds (58th overall). Both Imhof and Sparks played in the West Coast League in 2012. Joe played for the Falcons in 2011.

Over the first 10 rounds, nineteen WCLers were selected.
