Former All-WCL first-teamer Marco Gonzales of the Wenatchee AppleSox made his Major League Baseball debut for St. Louis yesterday afternoon at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado vs. the Colorado Rockies. His appearance was televised live on MLB Network.

The southpaw went 5 innings allowing 5 runs on 7 hits while walking two and striking out 3 in the Cardinals’ 9-6 win at Colorado.

Marco pitched and played first base for the Sox in 2010, and led the WCL in strikeouts. He would later star at Gonzaga.

Hardy made his MLB debut on Monday, June 16 vs. the Kansas City Royals. Blaine pitched for Wenatchee in 2006 and the Bend Elks in 2007. Hardy has made five appearances to date and struck out 7 over 6 innings pitched while posting a 1.50 ERA for the division-leading Tigers.
