It is going to be a fun-filled summer at West Coast League ballparks in 2016. Fans will not only get to experience outstanding action on the field, but all 11 teams have fantastic promotions scheduled throughout the season. A few highlights include bobblehead giveaways, an appearance by the World Famous SD Chicken, and a number of postgame fireworks shows.Take a look below to see the promotional highlights for each WCL team.

Bellingham Bells: The Bells will be hosting three nights throughout the season celebrating “Bellingham Baseball Through the Decades”-three opportunities to honor all of the various teams and individuals who have contributed to Bellingham’s rich baseball history. The dates are June 22 (2000’s), July 8 (1990’s) and July 24 (1980’s). The team also has three fireworks nights scheduled for June 7, July 3, and August 3.

Kelowna Falcons: The BC Burn Fundraiser game has become a great tradition for the Falcons. Each year the Kelowna Fire Department sells the park out with all gate sales donated to the Burn Fund. The firefighters come with their trucks and equipment, in addition to bouncy castles, giveaways and prizes, making for a great atmosphere. The Falcons will also continue to offer free admission to their home opener.

Victoria HarbourCats: Santa Claus will take a quick vacation from the North Pole to stop by Royal Athletic Park on June 25 to help the HarbourCats celebrate Christmas in June. Fans will also get to enjoy multiple postgame fireworks shows, including on June 30 (Canada Day Eve Celebration) and August 6. Man’s best friend is invited to the stadium on June 26 for Bark in the Park Night.

Walla Walla Sweets: The Sweets have over ten giveaway nights (caps, water bottles, t-shirts, lunch bags, bobbleheads, winter toques, a trip on the Victoria Clipper ship, $1000 cash prize, and more) scheduled for this summer. Plus they are going to have a throwback night to the 1973 Padres, Dog Days of summer where fans can bring their furry best friends to the ballpark, and to top it off five fireworks nights.

Wenatchee AppleSox: A brand new all-you-can-eat ticket+meal option is now available in the form of the AppleSox Fan Pack at Paul Thomas Sr. Field this summer. The Fan Packs make for a great group outing option at the ballpark for only $20 per person. On top of the new Fan Pack option that is available for any home game, the AppleSox will once again have their annual postgame fireworks show on July 3.

Bend Elks: This season the Elks are introducing a brand new promotion called Strike Out Hunger. For every strikeout a Bend Elks pitcher records at home, Consumer Cellular – a team sponsor – will donate to Central Oregon Veterans Outreach (COVO). A running tally of strikeouts will be kept for fans at Vince Genna Stadium and a donation will be made to this great program by the end of the season.

Corvallis Knights: The Knights are celebrating their 10th season in Corvallis with a ton of great promotions. The iconic World Famous SD Chicken will return for his third visit to Goss Stadium on Saturday, July 9, when the Knights host the Yakima Valley Pippins. The Knights will also have Andrew Susac Bobblehead Night as part of the team’s Salute to OSU Baseball on June 25.

Cowlitz Black Bears: The Black Bears are proud to be hosting the WCL All-Star Game on July 19. The annual “Dash 4 Cash” will be on Thursday, June 30. $1,000 in cash will be littered on the field for kids 14 and under. July 2 will be Military Appreciation Night, where all active or retired military, police, and fire personnel will be admitted free to the game and the spectacular post game fireworks show.

Gresham GreyWolves: The GreyWolves launch their inaugural season in style with season ticket packages starting as low as $300. The team has eight home games right out of the gate from June 3-11 at their home park, Oslund Field at Mt. Hood Community College. This Saturday, May 14, the team will host a FanFest at Oslund Field from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where the team mascot will be unveiled.

Kitsap BlueJackets: The very popular $2 Tuesdays will return this season for the BlueJackets. Fans can enjoy $2 GA tickets, $2 hot dogs, and specially priced cold beer at every home Tuesday game throughout the season. The team will also debut a patio seating area behind home plate that will run between both dugouts, offering a brand new exciting and up-close view of the action.

Yakima Valley Pippins: The Pippins will have Super Scott T. Bobblehead giveaway on August 3 as part of Fan Appreciation Night. The Pippins have five postgame fireworks shows scheduled and have many additional giveaways nights planned including hats and Pippins-branded jersey lunch bags. The Mariner Moose will make his second appearance at Yakima County Stadium on Father’s Day, June 19.

The West Coast League is the premier summer collegiate baseball league west of the Mississippi. The 12-year-old, 11-team, professionally operated wood-bat league located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest features pro prospects from major conferences across the nation and an unparalleled history out west of great fan and player experiences in addition to the best summer weather in North America. In 2015, 59 players with WCL experience were selected in the MLB June draft, and more than 200 WCL alums appeared in affiliated professional baseball including 25 in the major leagues, such as home-run leader Chris Davis (Baltimore), NL Rookie of the Year runner-up Matt Duffy (San Francisco) and rising star pitcher Josh Osich (San Francisco). Overall member attendance exceeded 400,000 in 2015. The 2016 54-game campaign opens Friday, June 3.
