West Coast League Alumni in MLB Playoffs

In 2024, West Coast League alumni (28 players) appeared in at least one game for 10 of the 12 MLB postseason clubs.

Leading the way is Tarik Skubal (Kitsap BlueJackets, 2014) who is the leading candidate for the American League Cy Young Award after going 18-4 with a 2.39 ERA and 228 strikeouts in 192 innings with the Detroit Tigers. All total, 10 of the current WCL franchises have alumni who played for an MLB postseason team in 2024.

Skubal, along with 2016 Corvallis Knights teammates Steven Kwan and Adley Rutschman were on the AL roster at this year’s Midsummer Classic. Kwan batted .292 with 14 and 12 stolen bases for the Central Division champion Cleveland Guardians while Rutschman belted 19 home runs and collected 79 RBI for the Baltimore Orioles.
