Former Corvallis Knights pitcher Matt Boyd made his big league debut at the Rogers Centre today as the starting pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Matt was the hard-luck loser as the Jays were blanked 4-0 by the Texas Rangers. Boyd pitched 6.2 innings and walked none while striking out 7.
Boyd starred at Oregon State and played for the Corvallis Knights following his freshman season where he made 14 appearances, recorded 4 saves and struck out 33 over 29 innings pitched over the summer of 2010.
