This season the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League will feature two of the West Coast’s finest collegiate ballparks. The league’s Spokane franchise is moving to the brand new Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field at Gonzaga University. The facility’s dedication ceremony was attended by over 1,500 supporters last Friday. The state-of-the-art park features 1,300 permanent theater-style seats, pro candle lighting, home & visitor clubhouses and classic brick detailing. While the park is modern and NCAA regional ready, it has a heritage feel.

The new park also features a bronze bust in the stadium’s courtyard area of the Spokane RiverHawks General Manager and 2006 WCCBL Coach of the Year Steve Hertz. Coach Hertz, currently Gonzaga’s Director of Athletic Relations, skippered the Bulldogs baseball program for 24 seasons.

The Corvallis Knights will play at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field at Oregon State University this summer. The stadium, the home of the 2006 NCAA DI national champion OSU Beavers, was built in 1998. It seats 2,000 and features a brand new video scoreboard and infield field turf.

The Knights home opener at Goss is Thursday, June 14 vs. the Bend Elks. The RiverHawks open at Patterson Baseball Complex Thursday, June 14 vs. the Kelowna Falcons. Both clubs are expecting big opening night crowds at their beautiful new parks.
