Rosters for the 2016 West Coast League All-Star Game hosted this summer by the Cowlitz Black Bears were announced by league president Donnie Marbut this morning.
The WCL’s annual showcase is set for Tuesday, July 19 at David Story Field in Longview, Washington. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm. As in past years, a Home Run Derby will be held prior to the game.
For the first time, an area high school player will join the field of WCL sluggers. Last night, the Black Bears held a qualifying Home Run Derby where they invited local area high school talent to slug it out for a coveted spot in the WCL All-Star Game HR Derby. Kelso High School’s Zach Threlfall was the winner.
The North team will be managed by Bryan Donohue of Kelowna and the South by Cowlitz skipper Grady Tweit.
