The Bellingham Bells are excited to announce they will host the 2015 West Coast League All-Star Game on Monday, July 20 at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham, Wash. The All-Star Game will be presented by award winning John Howie Restaurants: John Howie Steak, Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar and Sport Restaurant & Bar.
“The West Coast League All-Star Game is the premier event of the summer, and we are honored to be hosting this special event,” Bells general manager Nick Caples said. “We are extremely excited to share this experience with all of our loyal fans within the Whatcom and Skagit County communities.”
The 2015 WCL All-Star Game will highlight the league’s top talent. Top prospects from each of the 12 teams in the West Coast League, located throughout Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, will be represented in Bellingham.
The event marks the eighth All-Star Game in West Coast League history. Recent hosts include Klamath Falls, Ore. (2014), Victoria, B.C. (2013) and Walla Walla (2012).
“Participating in a West Coast League All-Star Game is a unique and memorable experience for these players,” Caples said. “We’re excited for them to have the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a fan base that is very supportive and enthusiastic about summer collegiate baseball.”
A home run derby featuring the league’s top power hitters will precede the All-Star Game, starting at 5:30 p.m. The first pitch of the 2015 West Coast League All-Star Game will follow at 7:05 p.m.
“We greatly value our relationship with John Howie Restaurants,” Caples said. “Like the Bells, they are committed to helping young players chase their dreams of playing in the major leagues. This was the perfect opportunity to work together to create a unique experience that these players will remember for a lifetime, while at the same time putting on an event that our community will really enjoy. We are so grateful for the support of John Howie and his team; we know that the All-Star Game will be a very special event for everyone involved.”
