The West Coast League has announced its Baker Tilly Player and Pitcher of the Week award winners for August 3-9.

Pitcher of the Week: Mitch Haythorn, Wenatchee AppleSox
Haythorn, a right-hander from Northern Colorado, was brilliant in Game 1 of a North Division Semifinal Series at Kelowna. He blanked the Falcons on four hits over six innings, struck out six and did not walk a batter. He threw 50 of 77 pitches (65%) for strikes to earn the victory.

Honorable Mention: Alex Lee, Kamloops NorthPaws

Lee tossed a complete game, one of two in the WCL this season, in a win at Nanaimo, August 4.

Player of the Week: JT Summers, Ridgefield Raptors
Summers, a first baseman committed to Oregon, was key to the Raptors 2-1 South Division Semifinal Series win over Portland. He blasted four home runs off Pickles’ pitchers and drove in six during the series. For the week, he hit .433 (13-for-33) with a double, six home runs and 12 RBI.
