Several ex-WCLers were named to 2011 All-Conference teams including Marco Gonzales of Gonzaga. The frosh southpaw and first baseman was named the West Coast Conference co-Player of the Year.

Gonzales went 11-2 this past spring and hit .291 for the Bulldogs.

Marco played for the Wenatchee AppleSox in the summer of 2010, where he earned All-WCL honors.

Another AppleSox earned one of the WCC’s top awards, senior third baseman Stephen Yarrow, who was named WCC Defensive Player of the Year.

Also, ex-Kelowna Falcons infielder Bo Cuthbertson of Southern Utah was named the Summit League Player of the Year.

WCL alums were well represented on the All-Pac-10 honorable mention list as 9 ex-WCLers were named including players from Oregon State, Oregon, Washington State, University of Washington and UCLA.

Four former WCLers were named All-Pac-10 including Taylor Ard (pictured) of Washington State who led the Pac-10 in RBIs and led the WCL in RBIs and batting average in 2009.
