PORTLAND, Ore. – Tonight the 2026 West Coast League playoffs open, with Bellingham pursuing back-to-back titles, Corvallis seeking an 11th WCL championship, and Wenatchee chasing its first since 2012.

NORTH DIVISION
Top-seeded Wenatchee, with a league-best 39-13 record, visits Kelowna to open the North Division semifinal, with the AppleSox looking for their sixth league championship. Wenatchee enters the postseason on a seven-game winning streak, including a three-game sweep in Kelowna just last week. Two top pitching staffs will be on display, as the AppleSox led the WCL with a 3.37 ERA and the Falcons (4.16) ranked third.

In the other North semifinal, second-seeded Bellingham travels to Nanaimo. The Bells are making their sixth consecutive postseason appearance and their 11th in the last 12 seasons while the NightOwls are making their postseason debut. The teams split six meetings this summer. Bellingham registered a league-best .285 team batting average this year.

SOUTH DIVISION
The South’s top three seeds all finished 31-23 this season, with Ridgefield and Corvallis qualifying as first- and second-half titlists, and Walla Walla separated qualifying as wild card and No. 3 seed.

Top-seeded Ridgefield makes the short drive south to Portland in one semifinal. The Raptors, in the playoffs for the fifth time in their seven seasons, are led by Chris Cota, who this week became just the third head coach in WCL history to reach 200 wins (the all-time leader is Corvallis’s Brooke Knight). The Raptors feature an explosive offense, having set a WCL record for runs scored at 425. The Pickles, WCL champions in 2024 and runners-up in ’25, are in the postseason for the fifth straight year and boast a 4-2 record against the Raptors this season.

In the other South semifinal, Corvallis — the League’s most decorated member team, now with 19 straight postseason appearances — is at Walla Walla. This is the Sweets’ first postseason appearance since 2019, when they lost the South championship series to Corvallis. Walla Walla went 20-7 at home this year, tied with Bellingham for best in the WCL. So far, the Sweets have taken four of six games against the Knights.

Playoff Structure: Each first-round matchup is a best-of-three series. The higher seeds — Wenatchee, Bellingham, Ridgefield and Corvallis — open on the road tonight, then host Games 2 and (if necessary) 3 Saturday and Sunday.

Following the first round, each division will play a single Divisional Championship Game next Tuesday, with the winners advancing to Thursday’s WCL Championship.
